Initially we intended to use Sunpower Design as our architect, but Andreas indicated he is stepping back a bit from the business, so we ended up with his associate, Kristine Sommerfeld who is now with Field Design Studio.
The brief was fairly broad, but mainly:
- give us an environmentally sensitive renovation.
- provide a couple of extra bedrooms upstairs.
- to not just be a box on the back of the house.
- have minimal encroachment into the back yard.
The builder we selected is DJW Building & Construction.
After about 9 months of design work, and another 3 of organisation, demolition started on 10 November 2014.
